ONGOING ACTIVITIESJump down to Special EventsSundays 10:30-11:30 AM: is our weekly church service with Barbara Logan on keyboard and Mike Norris on drums. Barbara and Mike will hold a Jazz Concert at the church on Sunday, September 14 at 2:00 PM. Also Sundays from 10:30-11:30 AM, under the directorship of Beegee Brandhorst, is our Youth Education program. If you would be available to help with the children one Sunday a month, please contact us. Sundays 11:45 AM, following our regular Sunday service, we have a discussion of questions, answers and exploration of ways we can apply Unity Teachings to our lives. Tuesday mornings, 10:00 AM - noon our morning book and film group meets. This month we will be studying the book, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle (selection of the Oprah book club). Tuesday afternoons, 2:00 PM Food Anonymous group meets at the church. Tuesday evenings 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM is normally our evening book studies class, however it will NOT meet during August (but we will have a Unity Basics class—see Special Events, below). The rest of the year, this class may be taken for Unity credit leading to Licensed Teacher certification or it may be taken without credit. Thursdays from 11:30 AM - noon is our Daily Word Meditation and Prayer Refresher. The second Thursday of the month from 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM we hold a World Peace meditation. Saturdays at 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM is Unity Cafe. The Unity Cafe is a discussion group for applying prosperity and other Unity teachings to our lives and our relationships. Coffee, juice and light snacks will be available. Saturday afternoons, 3:00 PM Food Anonymous group meets at the church. Third Saturday of the Month, 11:00 AM - noon Eckankar (Eck) holds their spiritual group discussions at the church. Monday - Friday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Church office at 125 Wyatt is open. SPECIAL EVENTS - AugustA Unity Basics class will be presented by Jerry Lund, licensed Unity Teacher, Tuesday nights 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM on August 12th, 19th and 26th.Wednesday, August 13: Board of Trustees meeting at the church starting at 3:30 PM. All are welcome to attend. FUTURE SPECIAL EVENTSSunday, September 7: we celebrate our first full year of being an official church. Following the service we will hold a potluck (please sign up) as well as honoring our members who have volunteered their time and talent throughout the year.Wednesday, September 10: Board of Trustees meeting at the church starting at 3:30 PM. All are welcome to attend. Wednesday, September 11 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Unity World Day of Prayer will be celebrated at the church. Our Dynamic Duo, Barbara Logan and Mike Norris, will hold a Jazz Concert Sunday, September 14 at 2:00 PM at the church. Saturday September 20, Cathleen Straley will present the subject of non-violent communication, "Learning the Language of the Heart, an Introduction to Compassionate Communication," from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the church. Sunday, September 21, we will celebrate the Interfaith Worldwide Prayer for Peace at the church. Sunday, September 21 starting at 7:00 PM, Peace Lutheran (1701 Missouri Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88001, 575-522-7119) will host a UN International World Peace Celebration. This is a joint musical celebration with a combined choir of members from Peace Lutheran, Holy Family Ecumenical Catholic Church, Mastery In Life, Wellspring, Unitarian Universalist and Unity of Mesilla Valley. Starting Saturday October 4 and running for 8 weeks, we will hold a class on "Lessons in Truth" from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Keep checking back for more information and more events! Go to Top of Page |
